HEALTH
You
likely avoid dog poop whenever possible, but you may not realize
just how dangerous doody is to humans. One gram of dog waste contains
23 million fecal coliform bacteria, causing cramps, diarrhea, intestinal
illness, and serious kidney disorders. Some of the more common diseases
and parasites carried by pet waste are:
- Campylobacteriosis
- causing gastrointestinal illness in humans
- Cryptosporidium
- parasite causing gastrointestinal illness in humans
- Toxocariasis
- roundworms transmitted from dogs to humans
- Many others
including Giardiasis, Salmonellosis, Heartworms, Whipworms, Hookworms,
Roundworms, Tapeworms, Parvo
Children are
more susceptible to pet-borne illnesses because they have weaker
immune systems than adults do (and are more likely to play in the
'mud').

LIVING
LIFE
Life's
short...don't spend it scooping poop. We're here to help you enjoy
the time with your pets and family instead of spending it working
in your yard.
ENVIRONMENT
The
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates that two or three
days worth of pet waste from a population of only 100 dogs would
contribute enough bacteria to temporarily close a bay, and all watershed
areas within 20 miles of it, to swimming and shellfishing. How is
this possible?
We'll, 40% of
United States households own at least 1 dog. This leads to a much
higher population density of large mammals than would occur naturally.
This high density population produces a lot of waste that promote
increased runoff to surface water resources (creeks, rivers, lakes)
and storm drain systems (which eventually dump to surface water
resources).
Among other
problems this poses, pet waste contains nutrients that promote accelerated
weed and algae growth. Excess vegetation in aquatic environments
is not only unsightly, it consumes the oxygen that aquatic life
need to survive. Additional oxygen is consumed as raw waste is decomposed
in the water body. This can lead to what is commonly referred to
as 'dead lakes'.
By scooping
your poop you're not just protecting your family...your protecting
the environment.

AESTHETICS
Believe
it or not pet waste does NOT make good fertilizer. In fact, due
to its high protien base, dog waste is quite toxic to that green
grass you've been so lovingly nurturing. Pet waste can make your
lawn look more brown and round than clean and green. You may have
seen the tell-tale signs in your own yard, commonly referred to
as 'burns' this problem can be very unsightly.
But we haven't
even mentioned the most obvious aesthetic problem with dog waste...IT'S
POOP IN YOUR YARD! The piles clash horribly with your beautiful
flowers and landscape and smells even worse.
We can help
you improve the total aesthetic appeal of your landscaping. Call
